CALIBRATION SURVEY METER

The use of survey meter requires calibration in terms of physical quantity, together with a conversion from physical into protection quantities by means of a factor or coefficient.

This is to comply with the legal requirements as gazette under Act 304 which requires every company who deal with ionizing radiation / nuclear to have at least 2 units of properly calibrated instruments.

To comply to this Act, SUTSB in collaboration with APM Nuclear Technology Sdn Bhd to provide calibration for radiation survey meter and personal dosimeter by using X-ray and Gamma-ray sources

We provide wide variety of survey meter and personal dosimeter calibration using Gamma ray (Cs-137) and X-ray (40 kV-300kV) source

All calibration will be done in 10 working days and complied with MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (SAMM No.873)

All calibration personnel are competence and recognized by regulatory body.

TRANSPORTATION

TRANSPORTATION RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS

The scope of work for transportation and packing radioactive material is based on the Radiation Protection Regulations (transportation) 1989, to guarantee the continuity of the safety of workers, the public and the environment. In addition the IMDG IATA rules and will also apply if the transport is carried out by air and sea.


  • Smear test will be carried out before the package was placed into the vehicle. This is to ensure that no contamination of radioactive materials.
  • The package will be placed in a stable condition in a vehicle
  • Make sure the dose rate at the driver and co-driver was less than 0.02 mSv / h (2 mR / hr)
